Merging Illustrator and Photoshop

A lot of work that I do requires a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The base or foundation of the design I work through on illustrator. For example, The ‘Far Out Baseball’ image with this post requires vectors for the base design but if you look closely there are patterns and shading. The patterns and shading I have applied in photoshop. This process, in my opinion, creates dynamic designs that are more than just vector graphics with solid or gradient colors. The best part is they are infinity editable. I can save the vector version of the design with the underlying color then I can create a multitude of varying designs using adobe photoshop. I don’t use this process all of the time but it is very useful and puts an extra flare on any design.
