It only seemed fitting to create a post about starting up a new business which is fully intimidating, scary, and overwhelming. However, I’m still in my business infancy and I can truly say it is already rewarding. The first step was planning. It was clear from the beginning that without a clear mission and goal to start out with, there wasn’t much forward movement that was going to be made. My advice is to dive into something you are passionate about and knowledgeable of. That way you will have cleared as much fog as possible because let me tell you….in the beginning it is very foggy. Once that goal is clear, create smaller steps to obtain that goal. Mine included getting accounting set up and taxes figured out, an office and computer to work comfortably at, and set up a website and marketing materials to obtain clients. Put the important speed bumps first, get them out of the way, and make the road ahead much smoother. My hurdle was my website (you’re probably wondering because I provide website services). Well, lets say it is tough to design something knowing it will represent myself and a design company. One difficult aspect is you will have to invest your money in your business. Spend money to make money, right?
The ball is rolling and everything is coming together. Green Bee has opened its doors and I can truly say that it is very exciting.
